Iraq
With a robust national presence, AGO implements programs across more than ten governorates in Iraq. We provide critical support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, and vulnerable host communities through a wide range of interventions spanning livelihoods, protection, social cohesion, climate action, and good governance. Our field offices in Erbil, Salah Al-Din, Kirkuk, Basra, Mosul, Anbar, Missan, and Thi-Qar ensure that services are tailored to local needs and delivered with proximity, empathy, and cultural relevance.
Syria
In Syria, AGO delivers locally led and conflict-sensitive programs focused on early recovery, livelihoods, social cohesion, and capacity building. With field operations in Ar-Raqqah and Deir ez-Zor, we support vulnerable populations through vocational training, small business development, mental health and psychosocial support, and resilience-based climate action. Our approach ensures community ownership, inclusiveness, and accountability, contributing to long-term peace and development in a highly fragile context.
Ukraine
AGO is expanding its operations in Ukraine to address the urgent needs of communities impacted by the ongoing conflict. We provide critical support through early recovery, livelihood restoration, psychosocial assistance, social cohesion, and local development initiatives. Our teams work in collaboration with local partners to ensure that services are inclusive, relevant, and responsive to community priorities. With a strong focus on accountability and resilience, AGO’s programming in Ukraine is rooted in local engagement and delivered with empathy, adaptability, and cultural awareness.
